Living willow figures sculpture is 2.5 metres tall approx

The family, living willow work with secondary school. 2.5 metres tall approx.

Students from Coombe Girls' school created this family group, under guidance from willow weaving artist Simon Honey. Working from sketches inspired by Henry Moore, the living willow took shape over two days of workshops.

Year 2 Pupils at Robin Hood Infants had fun creating this living willow elephant under the expert tution of Simon Honey. Below: As the Elephant began to grow it became a woolly mamoth!

The children really enjoyed making the sculpture and it was amazing to see the willow take the shape of the elephant. It was a good opportunity for the children to have real hands on experience and become involved in the making of a large scale sculpture. Nadine Edwards Art coordinator Robin Hood Infants
